The Milking Shorthorn is a breed of dairy cattle that complements the similar Beef Shorthorn breed, a divide which sprouted from Shorthorn breeders stressing importance on milk production. Its population is relatively low, but its traits include self-sufficient calving and producing milk high in protein.
