Hope Jr., facing sexual-abuse charges involving a juvenile girl eight years ago, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and was given a suspended sentence in Brunswick County Circuit Court this morning. 3 year old appreciates soldiers at airport

Upon returning home to Florida from a recent trip to NJ, we came across 3 US Army soldiers in full camouflage attire in the security line at Philadelphia airport. In a blatant disregard of the concerns of affected West Virginia coalfield residents who actually live under the fallout of devastating mountaintop removal operations , a press release summary from the Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources’ field hearing on “Jobs at Risk: Community Impacts of the Obama Administration’s Effort to Rewrite the Stream Buffer Zone Rule” completely deleted any mention of the official testimonies by Appalachian coalfield leaders Maria Gunnoe and Bo Webb.

Sarah van Gelder: Not Above the Law: Revoking Massey Energy’s Charter

A majority of U.S. Supreme Court justices and some politicians like to refer to corporations as “persons.” Few actual people, though, could get away with years of lawless behavior resulting in injuries and deaths, and the destruction of entire communities and ways of life. To do that takes the protection of a corporate charter and a legal and regulatory system that has succumbed to concentrated money and power

Gary Weitzman, DVM: Saving Puppies

Here we go again. And this time it wasn’t on purpose, unless you consider that we know it’s a strong possibility every time we take in new puppies. We’ve got parvovirus again.
